Karen Frederick, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Karen is Board Certified in Geriatric Physical Therapy. Karen earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, a Masters degree in Physical Therapy from University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN.
Karen is new to the area and recently settled in Inman, SC with her rescue dog Sammie. She grew up in Michigan and pursued her advanced education in Los Angeles, CA where she started her career in Physical Therapy. She moved between California and Michigan twice over the course of 30 years to support and care for family members. Karen earned a certificate in Ergonomics from University of Michigan, Lymphedema certification from Klose Training, transitional Doctorate degree from the College of St. Scholastica and completed Board Certification in Geriatric Physical Therapy in her pursuit of life-long learning. She has held various appointed and elected leadership roles in state and national Physical Therapy Associations to mentor newer graduates and serve her profession.
Karen builds trusting relationships with her patients and provides excellent Physical Therapy care. She looks forward to serving the Landrum community and would enjoy meeting and caring for you and your family!
Karen has quickly developed affection for the rolling foothills and local mountains of South and North Carolina. She spends her free time with new friends hunting waterfalls, hiking with Sammie, kayaking local lakes, and entertaining family from near and far. Karen started a Meetup group “Nifty After Fifty Christian Explorers” to bring local women together for outdoor adventures. She is active in her church. Karen is eager to learn pro-tips for gardening in South Carolina so be sure to share a success story or gardening tip when you see her.
